The B-52 Crash Memorial is located on the Lake Michigan Shore Roadside Park
north of Charlevoix MI on US 31.
At the time of the crash, the Big Rock Point Nuclear Plant was very nearby.
(The nuclear plant has since been dismantled.)

The SAC Air Force Base was in Emmet County, right across the road from Charlevoix County.
The road goes right up the hill next to the gas station-market.

The crash occurred 3 to 5 miles straight north of Big Rock Nuclear Plant in Lake Michigan,
so more in the direction of Charlevoix County, than Emmet County.
