Article Above and Photo Below: The Petoskey Memorial Day Parade plan included Retired Rear Admiral J. Parke Sager (far right below) who spoke during the Memorial Day observances in the Pennsylvania Park. On the parade route was a stop at the Veteran’s Memorial Park, followed by another stop at the Mitchell Bridge. The photo below was taken during the stop at the Veteran’s Memorial Park, with the background showing the Honda dealership then located at the corner of West Mitchell Street and Ingalls Avenue with the building housing Royal Tire in 2024.

Photos Above: John Demmer of Harbor Springs served in WWII in the U.S. Army and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. After the war, Mr. Demmer went on to build a manufacturing business which designs and builds heavy military equipment. Mr. Demmer is a valued member of the Harbor Springs community. With a Concert in the Park after the 4 July 2014 Parade, the community honored him for ALL he has done in the area.
